Fat To Fit: Week 2
Y’hello, Beastie! Week 2 was pretty interesting and eventful emotionally. Not because of the meals per se, but I am dealing with some other crap - a new one - that no one should be dealing with. I am not going to elaborate on that here but it does anger me, and that anger is also something else to deal with. But looking at my entire life, I am tired. I am tired of living, I am tired of this life. It is always one shit after the other with no rest. It is tiring, it is exhausting. You know, sometimes I think it may be some arrangement from the universe or whatever highest power you believe in to keep me away from San Francisco because I would have taken a leap from the Golden Gate Bridge a while ago already.
Anyways, the meal prepping is going so far, so good. I did hurt myself a bit though. You see, I am lactose intolerant but still had cheese every single day. I have removed most dairies from my diet but one cheese: Le Gruyère. Listen, there is no bargaining with that one. It stays. One of my snacks was grapes with cheese. It reminds me of my high school years back in Geneva, Switzerland. It was not the best time in my life but I had friends around and they made life bearable. And we would have Le Gruyère a lot, and even visit Gruyères, Fribourg quite often, where the cheese is a native of, in case you did not know. Red grapes with Le Gruyère is such a delicious snack! With black grapes it is even better if you have a sweet tooth and black grapes around. They’re sweeter than the red ones. The ones I saw at the grocery store looked pitiful, so I just picked the (dark) red ones. They were sweet too, though. So, it was a good compromise. But hey, the cheese did do some numbers on my stomach.
Damn it! As I am typing this, I am also remembering that I do have some medication that help with the lactose intolerance. They’re pills that you suck before having anything with lactose and they do help you not get sick after you have had anything with lactose afterward. How did I forget about it? I guess next week or the next I am having Le Gruyère again, yeah?
Anyways, documenting everything I had this week was not as thorough as last week. I did make some reels for Instagram and Facebook and the scale was showing 177 lbs a few days back, from the 181 lbs that I started at two weeks ago. My next weigh in will be before this article goes live, and I expect the weight to have either stagnated there or gone slightly higher. I am not eating or training to bulk, but in my experience, the first three weeks - at least - are funky as far as weight and the scale are concerned when you start a journey such as this one. Nothing stabilizes overnight and if you are a beginning, they can be demoralizing. But you have to chill because it is normal. It usually takes some time for the body to acclimate to the changes that you impose on it. You need to worry and see a physician if your weight drops or spikes drastically, because these are usually indications of something more serious going on, and the sooner it is caught, the better your chances to beat it, whatever it is.
Week 2 may not be as exciting as week 1 but week 3 is for sure. Do you remember that lunch that I had last week? The burrito? Well, I am having it against this week. I only changed the meat. On week 1 it was chicken. This time it is going to be ground beef. But seriously, that burrito was too good and I had to bring it back! That will be my dinner for the entire week.
That’s all I can tell you about week 3 right now. Are you on a weight loss journey yourself? If so, how is it going? Let me know in the comments, Beastie.
Until next time. Hug your loved ones, train mean.
